In northern homes the courtyard is where guests are received, where family gathers, and where no one is turned away without a greeting. We built our clinic in that spirit.
Olive Courtyard Clinic opened on Sultan Road in 2015, in a converted family house whose central courtyard still shades our waiting benches today.
From the beginning we wanted women to feel entirely at ease, so a female doctor has been on duty every day since we opened. In 2020 we added a dedicated wing for women and children, with its own entrance and waiting room.
Today our doctors, nurses, midwives and pharmacists care for families from Nassarawa GRA, Bompai, Tarauni, Zoo Road, Sabon Gari and beyond, in Hausa, English and several other languages.

Clinic Director
When a guest arrives at a Kano home, they are greeted, offered water and given a place to sit before anything else is asked of them. I want every patient who walks through our gate to be received in exactly that way.
As Clinic Director I look after the running of the clinic: our staff, our schedules, the cleanliness of every room and the comfort of every family. I make sure a female doctor is always on duty, that our Friday and Ramadan hours are announced in good time, and that no one leaves without understanding their treatment.
If there is anything we can do better, please tell me. You may ask for me at the front desk on any weekday.
